She is an Advocate by profession and was Municipal Chairperson of Thrippunithura.
Daughter of famous Kathakali artiste Kalamandalam Vaikkom Karunakaran Asan, she started her tutelage at the age of 4 and done Arangettam at the age of 7.
She is the recipient of Ustad Bismilla Khan Yuva Award from Kendra Sahitya Academy, Nareeshakti Puraskaram in 2016, Kalasagar Award in 2017, Thodayam Kathakali Club Puraskaram, Sriramakrishna Ashram Award and is the Director Board Member of Kalakshethra, Chennai.
Mutavannur Pisharath Suresh is her husband and they have two children, Sidharth and Kaamya.
