Situated in Sukapuram village of Edappal thaluka, Malappuram dist in Kerala. One of the famous 32 villages established by Maharishi Parasurama and once upon a time the Abode of sanskrit scholars. The history of Sukapurath pisharam starts with the installation of ancient Dakshinamurthy temple. After the installation of the temple people from Kapra Variyam , Kudakkatt Pushpakam and Puramundekkatt Pisharam were migrated for kazhakam.The two came from Puramundekkatt Pisharam were renowned Sanskrit scholar Sri Achutha Pisharody and his sister Kunjukkutty Pisharasyar. The later generations of Sukapurath Pisharam starts from the five daughters of Smt Kunjukkutty Pisharasyar.
